TERENCE DURRANT INSTALLED AS 59TH PRESIDENT
Thank
you for visiting our web site.
The West Indian Social Club
of Hartford is rich in history. Founded in 1950, our
membership has vast experience in the happenings in this
region and through out the world. This organization was
created from the vision of farm workers who wanted a place
where West Indians, their descendents and American nationals
can gather and exchange their experiences in a positive
light. Our history has taught us that the community is our
best friend.
Our facility
can be used free of cost by
community organizations, non-profits
and any
organization working toward the betterment of the community. These events
must be approved by the Board of Directors. We are a
community-based organization, so we welcome events, forums,
educational activities and any event that will promote the
purpose of our organization. Concerts in the ballroom are
rentals and these events are not sponsored by the West
Indian Social Club.
Terence
is a graduate of Thomas Snell Weaver High School and has
served in the United States Army. In 1994, I received my
Bachelors degree in Business Management from Cheyney
University of Pennsylvania. I also volunteer with the Cystic
Fibrosis Association, Christmas in April aka House Hartford,
Habitat for Humanity, Blue Hills Civic Association and a
number of other non-profit organizations. In 2002, I
received my Juris Doctorate Degree from Western New England
College School of Law. I am a licensed real estate agent in
the state of Connecticut.
The new
board would like to welcome you to the West Indian Social
Club of Hartford. One love
Greetings
members and visitors,
